Wives and daughters of workers and peasants of Russia are compelled to submit to regular drill in military tactics and in the use of gas masks, under the Soviet rule. Leaders believe that the only way to keep the proletariat republic safe from attack is to foster a military spirit in women and children, as well as in men. The Russian women are trained in readiness to serve in the army in the event of any foreign invasion.
